SOCCERPRACTISE
SoccerPractise started in June 2015 as a collaboration between four music and visual artists with an eclectic array of tastes including electronic music, R&B, punk, grime, trip-hop and Māori kapa haka music.
Geneva Alexander-Marsters (vocals), Thomas Philip Burton (MPC & synth), Leo Sebastian (Horgan- guitar & effects) and Kim Newall (camera, projector visuals).
SoccerPractise is a genre-bending multimedia musical and visual experience which incorporates English and te reo Māori lyricism, electronic beats and electric guitar. Unlike many other bands, the group’s visuals are created and mixed live on stage with the VJ functioning as a ‘visual musician’ who reacts to the music in real time along with the rest of the group.
