Deep in the Crates with Azbo

Azbo, originally from Croydon South East London and living in New Zealand for 7/8 years grew up in a multicultural area of London. West Indian, Jamaican and African influences were present from a young age. His families musical focus was centered around Reggae and Punk as a child, however with age the emerging sounds of Ragga Jungle and 2 step garage were popular on pirate radio for his generation. A history of hosting 100% Dancehall club nights, and a new adventure with new monthly ‘Wuk It Up’ hosting a music policy focused around Afro house, Contemporary Afro Beat, Soca and Kwaito.

‘I have a love for ALL music so its really hard for me to define myself with one style or influence however I am a huge fan of anything with some decent percussion and solid bass line groove.

AZBO has been prominent in the Afrobeat and Dancehall scene of NZ for some time and is no stranger to digging for music from distant lands.
