Written by on April 8, 2022

Base FM are proud to present: Aotearoas pioneers of pacific styled sub heavy dub and bass grooves, Salmonella Dub are finally bringing their RETURN TO THE KOWHAI tour. Meant to kick off in he Coromandels iconic venue Coroglen Tavern, Saturday April 23rd – Anzac Weekend. Unfortunately their Coromandel show has had to be cancelled. There is still a line up of dates dotted around the country, so be sure to catch them this autumn!

A phenomenal multimedia set of the Dub’s classics, alongside new tunes from their forthcoming album. Long time Salmonella Dub members Conan Wilcox and Tiki Taane are making a reappearance, with special guests Whirimako Black and Laughton Kora.

The Aotearoan bass heavy weights have been space weaving new tunes with the old through the months of lockdown, and after multiple postponements have come out swinging with a 2.5hr multimedia dance floor mashup of the Dub’s classics and a tasty bag of new album tracks.

The special guests for this epic night out are the bands long-time Dub Conspiracy mates and Bases very own Friday Drive hosts Si & KP and the consciously funky Sunshine Soundsystem. Joined by Aotearoa’s Dancehall Queen Rubi Du. “The whakapapa of our environment should enter our consciousness more fully to counterbalance the nonsensical technological developments in order to enable us to “Return to our Kōwhai” to nature where we belong.“ Some will come to look for gold – lost their hearts before they’re old.
