Sundays 2pm – 4pm with Kina and SomeKindaHolic

Tune in, turn it up and relax with some chill homegrown and abroad instrumental beats, chops & samples with your hosts Kina & SomeKindaHolic. “Lifting The Beats Since Ages Ago.”

Kina : Born and raised in Otahuhu til he was 9, a young Kina was suddenly kidnapped by his parents without warning and dragged down to live in NZ’s Country Music Capital… that’s right folks, Gore!!! (WTF). Whilst living in Gore he was musically cultured in the local pub carpark scene at night. Like many of his cuzzies he would listen to the finer things in life (while running the battery flat on the whanau valiant). Which included artists like Fats Domino, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley and not to mention The Cheech & Chong “Up In Smoke” Sound Track, which are just some of his musical influences. Finally he escaped the hustle & bustle of “The Gore Mindset”, returning to his place of birth in 1997. Urban life in this holy city has treated him very well, he’s become a Family Man, Poet, Artist, Selector and Connoisseur of Kinas to name a few.

SomeKindaHolic : Was born in the US.  She grew up in Las Vegas and spent her teenage years between NZ and Long Beach California.  Due to the sociodemographic nature of moving around so much, she’s eclectic and loves music from a wide range of genres.  The name SomeKindaHolic is based on her addictive personality.  She’s a music-holic, V-aholic, coffee-holic, smoke-aholic, work-aholic, laugh-aholic…whatever she’s doing right now, she’s doing it like there’s nothing else in the world to do.

This husband and wife duo first met in 1997 and have been together ever since.  They’re all about positive vibes, enjoying life and sharing love and laughter – so tune in and get some!
