The Headspace is an eclectic 2 hour journey through Ninja Jazz, Funk & Reggae, Downtempo, Blunted Hip Hop, Dubstep and classic Drum & Bass. Focussing on the often overlooked music from around the world, the Headspace is not about hearing the usual club bangers. The Saturday afternoon slot allows for a lot more self indulgence which isn't always possible with weekday shows or evening party sets, and apparently the Headspace is suitable for cleaning the house, and nursing hangovers.
Jazz from the late 60s and early 70s (Impulse, Blue Note, CTI), mid 90s downtempo (Warp, Mo Wax, Ninja Tune) and new school beats (Project Mooncircle, All City), hip hop & instrumental beats (Dj Spinna, Pete Rock, Jazz Liberatorz, Dilla, BBE, Stones Throw), electronic dub and even deeper UK bass music (DMZ, Hotflush, Hyperdub, nakedlunch, Apple Pips) forward thinking drum & bass from the past & present (Metalheadz, Certificate 18, Moving Shadow, Exit, Samurai), and plenty of local talent from Aotearoa.
