DJ ALIAS:
DJ Alias was born and raised in the heart of Auckland City and started the art of spinning records at the age of 14, two years later Alias was being booked at private parties and began his love affair with producing his own beats. After killing it on the regular at Fu Bar(AKL) for 3years he was asked to perform with a rising collective known as Fast Crew. Shortly after joining as a fulltime member they began producing a debut album which yielded a number 2 hit and achieved gold and platinum sales around NZ and Oz.
Alias toured Australasia extensively and for the last 7years has been supporting mega internationals such as De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, D12, Akon, Nelly, Missy Elliot and much much more.. His personal favourite artists that he has had the priviledge of supporting have been the likes of Dead Prez, J-live, Atmosphere, Mix Master Mike and A-trak.
BUCK ROGERS:
The year is 2012 and while planet earth's long missed hero Captain William Buck Rogers remains frozen in suspended animation following an unknown orbit in the galaxy, it is decided that someone is needed to assume his identity and restore balance to the people. Upon this calling Anthony Collinson otherwise known as Bugsy steps up to the plate to undertake this mission through sonic exploration.
With over a decade of experience behind the decks and a solid footing in the Drum and Bass scene, Bugsy saw himself play as a resident DJ for Subtronix and FU Bar, supporting some of the biggest names in the game such as Ed Rush + Optical, Bad Company, Noisia, Chase + Status and Pendulum. Further contributions to the scene came through promoting regular nights showcasing Auckland's emerging DJ and MC talent as well as the more established artists with events under the Coalesce imprint.
But things started to take a different course for Bugsy one night whilst on his way to a Bollywood gig when a young Serbian girl played a Gramatik tune to him. Lingering through his mind throughout the night this tune made him eager for more and he found himself researching the sound extensively as soon as he got home which led to discovering artists like Pretty Lights, Big Gigantic and Opiuo which in turn opened the door to the vast world of Glitch Electronic and Buck Rogers was born.
From there it has been onwards and upwards for the young Buck, assuming the identity of his predecessor and moving on a voyage that will see explorations throughout all realms of electronic music incorporating Funk, Hip Hop, Glitch and Dubstep.
Catch them Fridays 4pm - 6pm
